The bias, per se, is not a danger to democracy.  The majority of Americans can find information easily on the internet and the unrealistic dogma taught our children in classrooms fades fast in the real world of family, work, and community.  The dangers – and they are very real dangers – of leftist institutional bias are these:  (1) The leftist establishment acts like subsidiaries of Standard Oil and does not compete against itself, and (2) The leftist establishment lies about its bias.

This, then, should be the question to every network, every newspaper, and every other organ of media Leftism:  Why do you lie about your beliefs?  Why do you conceal your biases?  Once the left can answer that question honestly, the real dangers of Leftism will be gone.

This is how Democrats win Senate majorities.  Legislatures run by corrupt politicians change the law on senatorial succession and bad governors declare phony “emergencies.”  Indicted governors pick United States senators. Lawfully nominated senate candidates “resign” and the party, not the Democrat voters of New Jersey, hand-pick his replacement and the state supreme court endorses this illegal action.  The dreary pattern is the same:  Democrats lust for a Senate majority, and they will cheat to get it.

Capturing oral history from military personnel before they pass on is a noble initiative for veterans’ organizations. Gallant efforts though these are, a complementary perspective would advance these histories by also capturing the stories of the women who served with and supported their warrior husbands behind the scenes.

A cowboy from Texas attends a social function where Barack Obama is trying to gather more support for his Health Plan. Once he discovers the cowboy is from President Bush’s home area, he starts to belittle him by talking in a southern drawl and single syllable words.

Now we are told that a man such as Polanski cannot be subject to anything so footling as morality: He cannot “transgress” it because, by definition, he transcends it. Yet all truly great art is made in the tension between freedom and constraint. In demanding that an artist be placed above the laws of man, Harvey Weinstein & Co are also putting him beyond the possibility of art. Which may explain the present state of the movie industry.

There is absolutely nothing like the passion of a mother who loves her children and her country.

There will be a generation of North Dakota children raised in Pinwheel Land who will have never seen, and will have no memory of, an unspoiled, uncluttered view. The black silhouettes of giant wind turbines will scar both sunrise and sunset.

We need today a Churchill, or at least a Party of Churchill.  Republicans should be that party.  There is precious little that a minority party in Congress which does not hold the presidency can do about grave national security threats.  Republicans are in that situation.  So what should they do?  Everything they can, and that means asking Congress to declare war on Iran.

There is significant evidence that the Democrats will do anything to go against the the will of the American people and put their “version” of health care reform into law. There is emerging evidence that they will even go as far as complex procedural methods to do it even though they do not have the votes! THIS MUST BE STOPPED!

I can think of to reason on earth why Conservatives should bow once more to weakling “moderates” in the Republican party, no reason in the world for us to accept and promote a Mike Huckabee or a Mitt Romney. It is not a moment to soon for us to seek out and encourage the highly competent Conservatives among us – the Jim DeMints, Michelle Bachmanns, John Boehners and Joe Wilsons. Unless we want to fuel – and justify – a third party movement we’d better take the question of ideology very, very seriously.

What is truth? What is fiction? You decide.

And that is the point: there is something called reality.  When feelings tell one he is, or should be, something he is not or shouldn’t be — a girl, a legless man or Napoleon — the sane conclusion is that you’re confronted with a psychological problem, not a physical one.  It may be intractable, and it is certainly easier to mutilate the body than cure the mind.  But you cannot mutilate reality, only obscure it.

A story of sleaze and corruption involving a taxpayer-funded organization consisting of sex, hookers and government ties at high levels has to be a news director’s dream. Yet, this very scenario was essentially ignored for days after the story broke. The mainstream media, or should I say the old-line media, chose simply not to cover the recent ACORN scandal.

There are people around the world who will always hate or distrust us, like the mullahs of Iran or Kim Jong Il or Castro.  Obama seems determined to befriend these mortal enemies.  Then there are peoples, nations, and leaders which share natural interests with America, like Israel, Poland, India, Columbia, and Britain.  Toward these nations and their leaders, Obama seems bent on being the very ugliest Ugly American.

It was striking to hear Khadafy and Chavez profess their admiration for Obama, call him “our son”, and declare their fond hope that he remain president for life. The Chinese and Russians are more circumspect in public, and laughing their heads off in private. As for the saner members of the UN, many Europeans still think they’ve got the American president they’ve always wanted: They would agree with John Bolton’s indictment – that this was a post-American speech by a post-American president – but mean it as high praise. As the contours of the post-American world emerge, they will have plenty of time to reconsider their enthusiasm.

News aggregator DrudgeReport.com is currently linking to a YouTube video of a government schoolteacher instructing young students to praise Obama in song. While this is shocking, there is an even bigger story here. Consider this: the video’s “views” counter listed only 363 views as of 1:04 p.m. EST on Sept. 24.
